Why does my Proform 3.8 treadmill just stop?
My Proform 3.8 treadmill, when going fast for some time (here it was 14.5 kph) will just stop. This video shows what happens – the motor tries its best to keep going, but any weight on it stops it dead. Only after a power down does it fix itself – ever seen this before? The treadmill is 4 months old, but it also did this in the first week.

I had the engineer round in the end. He replaced the control board and motor under warranty. He suspected the control board mainly. Said it was probably due to the cold on the control board, then when being used, heating up quickly. His advise was to (when it’s cold – winter cold) gently warm the front of the treadmill with a fan heater (say 10 minutes) before using it.
