What is a better type of shoe for running about 10 miles a week. A cross trainer, or a Running shoe?

I have been running for about 8 years and I have always used a running shoe. I was just wondering if that is the right type of shoe for distance running or should I switch to a cross trainer shoe. I just want to know for my long term health of my feet and ankles.

I’m pretty sure you’d want a running shoe. I’m not expert, but I’m pretty sure the soul is a little cushier and it can remove more stress from your joints. If you do plan on running that much, I’d advise that you find a way to run in the grass or the dirt to prevent added stress on the knee joints from the concrete roads. Hope this helps you someone :) Good luck exercising!

Definitely use a pair of running shoes to stay healthy. If you’re not sure which ones are right, go to a specialty store. A good salesman will check you for over supination or over pronation and match you with the correct model.

I would stick with the running shoes
