How to fix elliptical trainer?

My resistance isn’t working on my Proform elliptical trainer. Sears charges $100 just to “look” at it!!!! I searched web, but all “repair” hits directed me to new machine sales sites! >:( Does anybody know anywhere to look online, or any resources or suggestions? I don’t want to throw out a $300 machine, and I can’t afford a “minimum” repair charge of $100. Advice? Thanks.

A good buddy of mine repairs fitness equipment for company called LifeGear. Call 1.800.226.4493 and ask for Nick. Only speak to Nick and let him know that Michael (his favorite ex-boss), told you to give him a call to see if he could help you out (tell him you are a friend of the family’s). It helps to have it disassembled and perhaps some digital images to send. Keep in mind he’s on the clock for a competitor of Proform, but he’s “the go to guy”. If anyone can help you out Nick’s the one. And please, if he hooks you up, hook him up with a letter of praise for his exemplary service. Good Luck!
